The Proposal – Gathered’s Original Sweethearts

Scott proposed to Carrie in what was perhaps not the private, and intimately romantic way she had always imagined, but in a way that was, looking back on it, very appropriate for and indicative of what their life together would be: on a stage. In front of hundreds of people.

Scott and Carrie met the summer before their junior years of college, when they both decided to take summer jobs at ValleyFair.  Scott was a team lead at one of the roller coasters, and Carrie a lifeguard in the waterpark.

Fast forward two summers to a return trip to ValleyFair, and Scott’s big plans for popping the question.

All day, Carrie had her suspicions that Scott might make such an attempt, and was really hoping he wouldn’t.  Not because she didn’t want him to ask – she did! Just…. please… please not at ValleyFair!  She was actually convinced that he would ask WHILE riding the roller coaster where they had met. She imagined him pulling a little square jewelry box out of his pocket at the pinnacle of the highest climb in the ride, and then losing hold of it as they plummeted down, the ring suspended comically in midair for a moment, before disappearing forever – lost among the debris of hats, sunglasses, cameras, papers, and other assorted personal items that were lost after their owners were instructed to put them away but didn’t.

But there was no suspiciously ring-box-shaped item in Scott’s pockets, and when they did ride the roller coaster and climbed to the highest point – nothing.

Turns out, Scott had been much sneakier. In fact, Scott had actually travelled to the park secretly the day before – which was 6 hours of driving, round trip – to make his preparations.

A college friend of his and fellow theater student, Ditt, was working that summer as stage manager for the Ed Alonzo magic show (recognize that name?? Only those of us 40 and older will – Ed was the magician/diner owner on Saved By The Bell 💁‍♀️ …another name you will not recognize if you didn’t grow up in the 80s and 90s!).

Through the connection of his stage manager friend, Scott arranged for Carrie to be “randomly chosen” from the crowd and brought up on stage as a volunteer during the show. The three of them then planned the details that would follow – complete with the appropriate lighting, music, and of course, camera. Finally, leaving the ring in the trusted possession of his friend, Scott drove all the way home, ready to turn around and drive right back again the next day – the stage was set.

After their enjoyable, but otherwise uneventful rollercoaster ride, Scott and Carrie took in one of the outdoor gazebo shows – the kind where the performers dance around and pull audience members up on stage to join the fun. As one performer twirled around their table with an inviting smile, outstretched hands, and a question in her eyes, Carrie stared back with an unmistakable expression that said “not on your life, pal,” and the dancer quickly moved on to a different victim. Carrie leaned into Scott and whispered “I hate when they force people up on stage!! It’s so awkward!! No thank you!!” Scott smiled steadily back.

The gazebo show was just across the way from the Galaxy Theater, where Scott’s friend was stage managing. Scott had told Carrie about Ditt working the show and they had planned to catch the act while they were there.

They found seats along the front row of the back section – prearranged seats of course, but Carrie didn’t know.

The show started and Carrie’s suspicious thoughts about Scott’s plans for the day were set aside as the acts continued. Until they announced a very special act, for which they would need a volunteer from the crowd – the ring disappearing act.

Carrie’s eyes snapped immediately to Scott. He wouldn’t. He…. wouldn’t. No, she told herself – she was just looking for signs – this was a coincidence and she was being paranoid.

Then Mr. Ed Alonzo was among the crowd, searching for his volunteer – he needed someone with a very interesting ring, he said. As he got closer and Carrie shrank down into her seat, Scott started waving his arms, pointing at her and calling out “pick her! pick her!!” Carrie shrank down even further – a look of terror on her face.

Ed Alonzo was there in a flash – “Well now – do you happen to have a ring on you? You do? Do you mind if I take a look?” With a sigh, Carrie held out her hand – her left ring finger sported a Black Hills gold ring, which her parents had given her years ago and she’d worn ever since.

“Well now, that’s actually a very interesting ring – how long have you had that?”

“Um – about ten years?” Carrie guessed.

“Oh that’s great – that’s perfect! I think that’s just the ring we need – you better bring that on up!”

With a side glance of complete and utter death to Scott, Carrie stood. As she made her way to the stage, her hands started to sweat – not only because she couldn’t believe this was actually happening – if it WAS really happening – but also because the reason she’d worn that Black Hills gold ring from her parents for the last ten or so years was because, blessed as she was with her mother’s knuckles, the ring was almost impossible to take off!

Wrenching and twisting at the ring, Carrie reached the stage, climbed the steps – still the ring had made little progress. Alonzo chuckled nervously – the crowd was waiting. Carrie took a deep, bracing breath and with one final, savage effort, forced the ring over the hag-like bone and handed it, sweating, to the waiting magician.

It should be noted that Scott played no witness to this struggle because the moment Carrie started down the aisle toward the stage, he had bolted out of his seat, through a side door on the opposite side of the room, where he was ushered backstage.

Onstage, Ed Alonzo continued the act of the disappearing ring, in which the Black Hills gold ring miraculously vanishes, only to reappear inside an apparently unopened can of creamed corn.

Setting aside the can opener she had just used to open the can, Carrie dumped out the gloppy corn – fully expecting to see an engagement ring among the knobby mush. But to her astonished relief, it was the same old Black Hills gold ring she had painfully parted with minutes before.

Chiding herself for assuming and looking for something that wasn’t there yet again, Carrie plucked her now sticky ring from the small pile of corn and took a deep, calming breath – ready to return to her seat – safely out of the spotlight once again.

But Ed Alonzo was still talking. Commenting again on what a very lovely ring that was and apologizing for making a mess of it. “Tens years you’ve been wearing that ring, huh? Well that’s quite a long time. And I feel so bad for getting your ring all full of corn like that,” he said. “I feel like maybe we should get you an upgrade to make up for it – something you could wear for the next ten years, even longer!”

With a look of horror, Carrie’s eyes shot immediately to the audience, blinded by the bright stage lights but searching desperately anyway – WHERE was he?

“You know, I really feel like I recognize you,” Alonzo was saying. “You used to work here at the park a few years ago, didn’t you?”

“…Yes” came the reluctant reply. Carrie had never met Ed Alonzo before. There was no chance he simply recognized her.

“Yeah – yeah! In the waterpark, right?!” His face lighting up as if some memory had finally come back to him.

“Yes.”

“And you met someone when you were here, didn’t you? You met Scott. Well Scott’s backstage, and he’s going to come out now and do his own little bit of magic.”

Resignation. No doubt about it now – this was really it.

Scott enters stage right (as any decent theater wife would know) and the lights immediately dim to a soft twinkle, and music started to play. He crossed the stage, holding a microphone in one hand and the other hand behind his back – now holding the ring box he had reclaimed from Ditt backstage. He was standing so tensely poised with that microphone that Carrie wondered if he was about to burst into song. But he simply crossed the stage and kneeled in front her.

For the first, and possibly only time in his life, Scott was nervous. So nervous that his hands were shaking. “Carrie, ten years ago I met you here” – whoops – the nerves mixed up his words and thoughts – it was the ring that was ten years old, he and Carrie had only met two years ago! But years of speech team and theater training kicked in and he plowed on without hesitation, “and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?”

Bringing the tiny jewelry box around and holding it up to Carrie with his one available hand, the nervous trembling suddenly intensified. Fearing he was about to pitch the box right out into the audience, Carrie reached to steady his hand – looking for all the world like she couldn’t wait to get that ring!

There was no question in her mind, of course, what the answer would be. He may have put her on a stage, under a spotlight, in front of hundreds of watching eyes – he had even arranged to have the scene recorded by the theater friend Ditt, who hovered stage left with a videocamera, something Carrie had not yet noticed – but she loved him. Before she could even take a full breath the answer came whooshing out her – “YES!”

It never occurred to her to say “Yeah…. no. This whole thing…. this is not a proposal by the lake under the stars, so…. Let’s try again.”

Things don’t always play out the way a person expects or plans, and one thing Carrie knew with absolute self-honesty – Scott would always be 1000% himself. This whole scene was his way of putting everything that made him who we was into something special. And he did it with absolute authenticity, and a desire to share what he was and who he was. Life was sure to bring surprises, adventure, magic, and always authenticity. Also, a bit of corn.

The Riverside Lounge

What could be more enticing than a cozy seat in this outdoor lounge?!

These frigid days in February really get us wishing for warm summer nights, and even the cooler evenings of fall, celebrating with people we love in a space like this!

The outdoor patio space at RiverHaven in Moorhead is one of our favorite places to stage an outdoor cocktail party – literally no other venue in Fargo-Moorhead can boast a river-view patio! Which is kind of weird for two cities built on a river, don’t you think?

While RiverHaven has the market on the view, party-goers at this venue will want to take full advantage of that fabulous outdoor space! Our Milo Cube Sectionals are the perfect fit for setting the stage for a swanky cocktail party overlooking the river. Neutral and modular, these cubes can be arranged and rearranged in endless combinations, ample seating space, and accessorized with pillows, throws, and accents to match your own event style and color palette!

On this day, we staged the patio with ALLLLL the cozy fall vibes! That meant plenty of cozy blankets, accents of leathers and furs, rattan tables for that “backyard porch” feel, dried florals, and a color story that makes us think of the both cool and subtly warm tones of an autumn sunset!

You’ll want to be sure you provide ample accent tables around the for guests to set their drinks and plates of small bites down! We wanted lots of texture with a casual vibe, so we went with a mix of rattan, wicker, and seagrass “coffee tables” and mixed, gold side tables for a touch of warmth. We loved the mix of casual elegance! Relaxed, but still totally chic!

Simple benches along the railing provide lots of extra seating, and help help make the most of every corner of the patio!

Pop in a few high-top tables here and there, and you’ll have a space so inviting, you might just have a hard time getting your guests to come back in for dinner! Just saying.

Northwoods Bohemian Chic Wedding in Northern MN

Jenna + Michael’s wedding was a dream come true! Tucked away in the cozy location at the family’s land in northern MN on the most perfect September day, every detail was absolutely impeccable – from the dress, to the stunning Sperry Tents with custom flooring, to the florals, custom stage backdrop, harvest tables, and cozy lounges everywhere you looked!

Jenna’s planner, James Peterson of RSVPeterson out of Minneapolis, MN, literally created a “small city” to make their guests feel comfortable – it was to be the first visit to MN for many of the guests, and Jenna and Michael wanted to make a great impression! We’re still trying to get over these amazing tents from Chance Pro Events!

We loved how James used our Wine Barrels and Cube Lanterns with solar powered lights to accent the main entrance to the event site that would automatically light up as the sun faded!

Upon arrival, guests found plenty of welcoming spaces to mingle – making their guests feel comfortable, with plenty of places to sit was a top priority for Jenna. We furnished the pre-event area around the ceremony with three casual seating vignettes and a few Biergarten Tables and Benches

Jenna’s vibe was bohemian-chic – masculine, but still romantic – very eclectic with plenty of interesting details. Her direct quote was: “Ralph Lauren hunting lodge meets Minnesota fall!” Layers upon layers with tons of texture. We couldn’t have had more fun putting these together!

After the ceremony, guests were led to the first of two, beautiful Sperry Tents, for the cocktail hour, furnished with a beautiful bar by Chance Productions, three more Gathered lounges, several of our our Grant Harvest Tables with a mix of our Bronze and Copper Tolix Chairs, and Live Edge Hightops paired with Loren Rattan Counter Stools. It was the perfect combination of soft velvets, natural wood, and boho rattan!

Simple decor on our Biergarten Tables included an assortment of our Gold and Glass Lanterns.

A walkway of Cube Lanterns and Hawken Gold Lanterns let the way into the dinner tent where James used two of our Champagne Walls to display little copper cowbells – the party favor and escort cards for the guests.

We can’t possibly say enough about these tents! Do you see the REAL FLOORS?! The field that played home to this incredible celebration was pretty lumpy, making the temporary flooring a must, and our friends at Chance were totally up to the task. We were instant, life-long fans and have loved every opportunity to work with this amazing company! The ceiling install – the tables – the bar – it’s everything our event-loving dreams are made of!

Table decor included Sugar Molds, Amber Bottles, Mercury Tea Light Holders, and our collection of Vintage Brass Taper Candle Holders

Our Lief Rattan Shelves provided a little height and more great texture on each side of the head table, while our Philip Slatted Arches gave a little detail in the background, just outside the tent!

Groups of Harrison Cross Back Bar Stools made perfect seating around hightop tables near the bar, and our 8″ Amber Bottles filled with simple florals were just the right touch to finish it off!

We are still drooling over this rattan pendant lighting install by Chance Productions, and the full-size trees brought in by Arts + Flowers! DANG, folks!! 🤩

To mesh with the earthy boho vibe, James used our collection of Agate Wedges to mark table numbers.

Arts + Flowers blew our minds with these enormous installs!

We love how Jenna and James took full advantage of our collection of soft seating and accessories to add cozy places to sit and chat in the cocktail tent, the dinner tent, and outside by the fire pits as well! It was very important to them that their guests feel comfortable, at ease, and that there would be plenty of places to sit – so between the cocktail tent, dinner tent, and outdoor fire pit areas, we staged ten lounges!

Featured above is our Dean Sofa, Anton Side Tables, Nesting Teak TablesSutton Club Chairs, Riley Chairs, Saffron Accent TableBrass Drum Coffee TableJamal Leather Pouf, Bai Faux Sheepskin, and Wicker Covered Demijohns – among many layers of pillows and rugs, of course!

Featured above is our Myrtle Sofa, Luna Chairs, Hollyce Side TablesTillie Rattan Chair, Shoshanna Wicker Barrel Chair, Raeanne Coffee Table, and another Jamal Leather Pouf. A Grapewood Branch added texture and bit of earthy interest to the coffee table.

Two lounges on each side of the dance floor provided ample seating for guests to relax while watching the fun on the dance floor! The Lounge above features our Maddison Loveseat, Winslow Chairs, and Live Edge Coffee Table, Bella Turkish Rug, and Jake Nesting Baskets

Featured above, left is our Maddison Sofa, Gibson Side Table, Zoe Spiral Bamboo Table, Dr. David Chairs, Hudson Lowboy Coffee Table, Bessie Cowhide Rug, Seagrass Cushions, Knit and Knit Floor Cushions.

Our Gretna Loveseat got a place of honor as the sweetheart seating at the head table. The warm, pop of peach was so perfect!

Jenna – can we just talk about this dress for a minute?? 🤩❤️‍🔥

Featured above left: our Elise Sectional

Because the fall evening would get cool, each lounge had cozy extras to help keep guests comfy well into the night, such as shawl wraps for the women, and cozy blankets and furs, like our Ava Sheepskin Fur pictured below, and the shawls draped casually on the edge of our Indian Grinding Table pictured above!

The three outdoor lounges, and seven indoor tent lounges, were enjoyed long into the small hours of the morning, and we wish the party could have gone on forever!

The details of this day will live on in our hearts forever! Thanks for having us be part of this gorgeous celebration!

Inspiration Station: How to Level Up Your Event Lounge with Accessories!

Let’s be real – when picking out pieces for an event soft seating area, it can be a little overwhelming just to pick which gorgeous couch and which chairs to put with it, much less accessorize the entire thing as well! And it can be so easy to find yourself over budget if you have a pillow fetish as serious as ours! So we get asked this question a lot: “do the accents really matter that much?”

Well, we’re going to give you the most honest, real answer there is: decorating is hands down, 100% of the time, PERSONAL. It’s all up to YOUR personal taste. So as far as which accents and accessories to choose, that’s entirely up to what you like! But do they matter? Of course – we think the details matter a lot! They help communicate a theme, define a style, and support a color story. They make a space more inviting and memorable. So how do you accessorize to tell the story and create the vibes you want without going over budget?

You don’t have to go overboard – just a few, well-chosen touches can go a long way in taking your event lounge from “meh” to “OMG!!” And we’re going to break it all down for you!

You don’t have to tell us twice – the furniture pieces are already so pretty on their own – right??! But all by themselves, is that sweet sofa and set of adorable chairs getting you that picture-perfect setting you’re dreaming of?

Let’s strip down this lounge setup above – right down to the bare bones of just the furniture pieces and build it back together again piece by piece, so you can see exactly how each detail and accessory impacts the overall aesthetic of the entire space!

First – define your vibe goals. This is all about creating a mood – how do you want your guests to feel at your event? What’s the atmosphere? Try to come up with four or five style adjectives to help you define your vision.

Here’s what we picked for this lounge: VIBE GOALS: MID CENTURY, SOFT, CASUAL, EARTHY, BOHO

Check out the first pic below. This setup is already off to a great start. The pieces all speak the same language – they’re all mid-century, or MC-inspired, with casual-earthy vibes. But all on their own – it’s feeling a little cold and sterile, right? In the next photo on the right, look how adding a rug (or a pair of rugs!!) helps tie all the pieces together and define the space – just like the rug in your own living room! No floating furniture pieces.

Already starting to look better!

Next, a couple of accent pillows add texture, personality, and style! They also help communicate a complete color palette!

And if you’re asking us, never leave your accent tables naked! Florals have an amazing way of bringing softness to a lounge setting and making it feel “finished” – just like the flowers on your head table – it’s just not done until the flowers show up for the party! We just popped in a few dried bits we had here in the warehouse and look how much softer it feels! Now imagine the transformation if you added some fresh beauties from your florist! Be still my heart 😍

Oh yeah – it’s really coming together now!

Adding a backdrop to a lounge setup is a great way to add dimension, fill empty vertical space, and draw focus. We used a few sections from our Philip Slatted Arches Backdrop for a simple, geometric touch.

A few giant palms finish things off with an unexpected touch of texture, shape, and boho flair!

Gathered Warehouse: 2019 Open House

Well here we are, friends, weeks into COVID_19 quarantine and the truth is – we really miss parties!! And while we pine for the day when we can kick up our heels once again and deliver our sweet loot to soirees near and far, we thought the best way to get us all through is by delivering the eye candy to your door virtually instead!

Now let me be real for hot minute here you guys – technology is ABSOLUTELY NOT my forte! (Can you hear Scott and Megan simultaneously groaning and laughing at me in the background?? Yeah. I can.) It’s taken me literally forever to put this post together… ok well…. I actually started this post in February, (after putting it off for two months even at that point) got frustrated with my computer and had to go make paper flowers for West Acres Mall for two months before I felt up to trying again…. Now I have no excuse for not blogging and I almost feel like I have a virtual “website mom” sternly shaking her finger at me for neglecting my blog.

Apparently, blogging also comes with confessions.

SO here we go!! After hours and hours of threatening every computerized device in my “home office…” – I am so excited to get this virtual party started with eye candy from our Fall Open House!! Yes, that took place in October. Well the END of October!

I can’t tell you how much gratitude I feel for the incredible growth we have experienced as a company each year, and the milestones we have reached along the journey – not the smallest of which being the expansion of our new warehouse to double its original size just one year after its grand opening in 2018!

Here’s a peek at all the pretties and all the fun we had celebrating that night! So grab a glass of wine and feast your eyes! I hope this helps tide you over until the world is ready to start celebrating life again!! And trust me – that day WILL come!!

We were blessed to have an incredibly beautiful fall night for our party! Especially because I'm pretty sure it snowed the very next day!

Guests were welcomed at the door with beverages from our styled bar and giveaways!

Dazzling the inside of our showroom was our “Dakota Lounge” – one of the pre-styled lounge groupings we introduced at the party that night! And how perfect are our Wakka Macrame Wall Hangings with this grouping??!! The smilax on the macrame was one of our absolute favorite details of the entire night!

PRE-STYLED GROUPING: THE DAKOTA LOUNGE
NEW LOOT: EX LARGE CHALKBOARD PANELS

Can we just give a HUGE shout-out to the amazing artists and creatives who helped make our open house so cozy and beautiful – Allison at Floret + Foliage for her gorgeous flowers (we were in smilax heaven!), Kayla at Indulgence Baking Co. for the most delectable treats, and Carissa and Gabe of Fernweh + Liebe Photography for capturing all the beautiful details!

Our showroom has been the perfect place for folks who are looking for a unique, off-the beaten path kind of place to host small events like bridal showers, baby showers, graduation parties, book clubs, wine clubs – and even small weddings! Our space comfortably accommodates groups up to 50 in a social setting, and up to 30 for a seated dinner setting. We can’t wait to be able to create beautiful events for our clients in this space again soon!

PRE-STYLED GROUPING: THE WESTBY LOUNGE

Guests enjoyed sipping on both cold and hot bevs from our new, Homestead Bar, while relaxing in the Westby Lounge and tented Prairie Sand Lounge. Many thanks to our excellent barman, Kelly Linster!

Another new addition to our rental collection that was featured during our open house was our new glamping tent! Perfect for providing shade on a hot day, or keeping the drizzle off when the sun just won’t shine, our glamping tent is just right for a covered lounge!

For the party, we decided to style up our new tent with another one of our pre-styled groupings – the Prairie Sand Lounge! We LOVED the way the soft colors and rattan elements mesh with vibe of the tent, but you could take any combination of pieces you like to create your own, perfect, tented lounge!

PRE-STYLED GROUPING: PRAIRIE SAND LOUNGE
Jon Walters provided the perfect, acoustic jams for the evening! (And our Macrame Wall Panel made the perfect background!)

Now for the big reveal: this ENTIRE section of the warehouse was just added last fall and basically, was the entire excuse to throw a party!  After just one year of operating out of our new warehouse (we first moved to this location in June of 2018), we were able to expand and DOUBLE our space! This means more elbow room, easier viewing of our collection, and – more room to expand the collection, you say?? Well I like the way you think, girl.

And can we just talk for a minute about those LABELS??!! As a company, we are constantly working toward greater organization for the ease of both our clients and our warehouse / loading crew, and I have to tell you that numbering and labelling each row and shelf in the entire warehouse and and getting photos and labels of every single piece in our collection is what DREAMS are made of!! Well – at least OUR dreams!!

This space USED to hold our entire rental collection - whoah! NOW, it's home to our smallwares, packing station, and a staging studio for photographing inventory, and a rentable space for photographers and folks looking for another unique, indoor space to stage photos!
More new loot! Featured is our new, Hudson Lowboy Harvest Table, accented with our new Knit Floor Cushions, and Odie Bamboo Basket Pendant Lights!

To wrap everything up, we gave our guests a little peek at some holiday styling and rental ideas! We know lots of companies start planning their staff holiday parties early – perhaps not THIS early…. but as long as we’re dreaming of the days when we’ll get to put together fun parties again, why not dream a little about holiday parties while we’re at it?!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the party in person last fall, our awesome team who helped polish and shine the entire warehouse in preparation for the event, and to all of you who are now joining us for the virtual party and reliving all the pretty details with us again!

Next up in our line of virtual parties – we had back-to-back styled shoots with some of our favorite colleagues in the F/M event industry back in February and the photos are IN!!! Can’t wait to show you all the gorgeous details! …If I don’t throw my computer against the wall and do a happy dance on all the little tiny pieces first…. 😉

Herbie the Photo Booth Camper: Latest Updates Unveiled!

We’ve been teasing you with hints and sneak peeks and now – the Herbster has been finished, he’s had his closeups, and it’s time to show off this sweet little photo booth camper of ours!

Herbie is a 1970’s Trailblazer camper that we pulled out of a lonely field on New Year’s Day a year and a half ago. We spent the next several months gutting the entire interior and getting the bulk of his remodel started. As last year’s wedding season kicked in to full gear and our focus shifted to delivering fabulous rentals for our event clients, Herbert had to wait for the rest of his finishing touches. Over the summer, we finished him up, gave him a great big hug, and scheduled a photo shoot!

How does Herbie work? Simple! The photo booth system runs on a touch screen computer built into the front of the camper. A real, DSLR Camera takes your photos so you get great quality pictures – no ipad or computer screen camera here, folks!

After each session, Herbie prints up to nine copies of your photo strips and even offers to send a digital copy right to your phone!

Herbie is always accompanied by an attendant who sets up the booth and keep things running smoothly. When the festivities are over, the attendant packs it all up and drives it away. Slick as can be!

Included in every rental are unlimited photo sessions and photo strips, fun props to help your guests let loose and have fun in the booth, an attendant, an online album with access to all the photos taken during your event, and free travel within Fargo/Moorhead!

Rates:

Two-Hour Minimum  | $625
Additional Hours  | $150/Each
Travel within Fargo/Moorhead  | Free

We are so proud of our little Herbie! If you would like to book him for your event (and we definitely think you should!!), reach out now!

Cady + Jon’s Fine Art Wedding

When Cady and Jon came to us to help with the decor for their wedding at the Rourke Art Museum, we couldn’t have been more excited! An incredibly art-minded couple – Jon is Director and Curator at the Rourke, while Cady also works at the Rourke, for Longspur Prairie Fund here in Moorhead, AND is the Travel and Import Coordinator of Aegean Imports – we already knew these two had incredible style and taste and we couldn’t wait to get started!

Cady and Jon wanted a head table that was warm, intimate, artful, and eclectic.

Rather than a full, formal dinner, the couple opted for heavy apps and a more free-flowing, social-style reception. Our emerald green appetizer plates were just the thing! And did you notice all the details that nod to the stained glass windows at their ceremony??!!

One of our favorite details was the extra-long Grey Gauze Runner that flows off the edges of the table and spills across the floor – invoking an impression of spilled paint.

Everything about the reception was planned and staged to compliment the beautiful artwork on display in the museum’s gallery at the time – even the desserts!

And finally, our new set of Dexter Sofas and Kianna Rug set the tone for the outdoor lounge on the museum’s stone patio.

We can’t say thank you enough to Cady + Jon for letting us get creative with them – we wish we could do it all over again!
